We were so proud of Roman for coming second in the MADE Awards  Digital Image category.  It's a popular category with over 500 pictures entered so to come second it a huge achievement we are all very proud of.

For this writing task we were inspired by the crazy wind we were having as well as some cool ideas from Cathy Hunts multitouch book - iPad Art - Lessons, Apps & ideas in the visual arts.

First I taught the children how to take panoramic pictures then we went on a walk to the reserve behind our class.  They had a great time taking all sorts of photographs using different camera angles. Then we used the App GlobePhoto and RollWorld (free) to manipulate the pictures. 

When we were writing, I was inspired by an awesome "inspire" meeting at school and used some examples of wind poems to structure our writing.  After reading some wind poems, the children created a padlet of favourite words and phrases.  We looked at activating nouns to start each line in an interesting way - unfortunately I created a template to support the writers, but it did the opposite! Luckily we ditched it and saved the writing.... I should have just let the children be creative and write instead of over-planning.
